Reigning champs Barcelona knocked out

Reigning Champs, Barcelona, fell off their throne, kicked out by Griezmann and the rest of Atletico Madrid. Yesterday rival Real Madrid turned around a 0-2 deficit after three goals from Ronaldo, which makes them favourites with Bayern. Both with 2/1 odds (3.0). Atletico with a 3/1 odds (4.0) and dark horse from Manchester a 5/1 odds (6.0).

Quite remarkable that no team has managed to win two consecutive Champions League titles, given that it is usually the same teams up in the quarter finals. During Champions Cup era Milan won both 89 and 90, and Bayern and Ajax had each three consecutive titles in the 70s. Clearly, when it was a cup for only the champions, with only one team from the best leagues, it was easier to win, and Barcelona, for example, did not risk to play Atletic.
